As well many of those cards have caps on them like $100k per year, many require advanced bookings etc.

As a FF program AP may not be the best, but if you collect mainly through CIBC (Diner's Club is not accepted enough to be worth it) I have yet to find a program with more value. It's no wonder that 60% of AP's rewards come from credit card usage as someone posted here a few days back.

If you run a business that uses CC a lot, it's the way to go.

Well, 15K AP points are only valuable if one can actually spend them when one wants to. Also, with cheaper alternatives (Jetsgo, WestJet, Via etc.) these days it might be better to just buy a short haul ticket than use points.
