Forgot about the free laundry. That is a plus, definitely for families. I am not very loyal to Starwood, or Hyatt and frankly they are both so small with their extended stay portfolio that the odds of having them as an option are unlikely.
The only other thing that bothers me about the IHG extended stay properties is the pet policy. From time to time, I will combine a work project with personal travel and will bring my dog along. From what I can tell, they require a copy of complete vaccination records and their pet fees can be huge. No other extended stay brands require records like that and I feel that it is somewhat an invasion of privacy. Have guests sign a waiver if you must, but vaccination records shouldn't have to be attached to my stay. So, my dog has never stayed with me at a Staybridge or Candlewood. We stay at Residence Inn typically.
