you can only use your companion voucher on BA. so that limits you to flying to the UK, or to anywhere else via the UK! eg SFO-LHR-VIE

if you dont use the companion voucher, then your avios can be used to book partner airlines such as CX or AA. will open up other routes for you.

However F to the UK/europe will be quite nice!
