Oh, I am not one of those calling for fresh faces. I am more concerned with people who at least meet BFOQs and are sufficiently enlightened to know good customer relations helps them, their attitude and self-esteem and the airline they work for. The pre-Civil Rights Act of 1964 girdles, nylons and weight requirements, not to mention maximum age, single status etc. had nothing to do with BFOQ and were both civil rights violations and probably dreams of puerile male leadership. SQ may be a nice airline to fly, and obviously I have no effect in Singaporean law, but I am glad some nations have less discriminatory labour laws on their books.

In other words, I don't give a damn if the FA is overweight, I only care they meet Bona Fide Occupational Qualifications (and if the airline is smart about its prospects and competitiveness, that the employees are trained to provide good customer service).

(needless to say, # of the position is very limited, so majority of FAs retire by 26/30.)

More importantly, some also believe that SQ FAs have to resign if they can't wear their uniform originally provided by SQ.
In other words, if FAs get fat, they have to resign
