Age is absolutely an issue. A couple of posters implied that it isn't. Also important is length of service.

Any organization that largely favors a small slice of the demographic pie is bound to have issues. Stagnation, lack of innovation, stodgy culture, poor service, etc, are all possibilities (eventualities?) when you don't hire new blood in a decade.
