Not really. The airline business ceased being a glamours job long ago now. However, plenty are still attracted to it despite the low pay etc. DL's recent hiring call for F/A's had a ridiculous number of applications for a relatively few positions. I dont expect AA will different in that regard.
The question is how many are really cut out for this job. For the exception of specialized foreign language skills, the bid system for a new hire might mean more day long trips ending at a base airport or the Super 8 at someplace like MCI (and yes AA FAs are being lodged in low budget hotels.) The desire to have a glamorous job will very soon disappoint. Not to mention many will need to commute. Try living in NYC, LA, or Miami on 25K-30K a year.
Unlike an older FA that has accepted the job for what it really is and makes the best out of it. See how happy you are when your young cute FA is hanging out in the galley most of the flight playing with his/her Iphone or Ipad.
