Would appreciate any insight from any of you who have booked Hilton stays through ba.com

As GGL I have taken up the complimentary HHonors Diamond status and, purely because of this, decided then to book a Hilton for our family holiday in Florida later this year, booking through ba.com on a part cash / part Avios booking.

I'm now not clear on whether this was a good idea:

1. I don't seem to be able to link my ba.com booking to my HHonors account, meaning that the hotel won't know my Diamond status until I physically arrive, i.e. once rooms have already been allocated.

2. The GGL line say they can't link my BA booking reference to the Hilton systems and also said that I may not benefit from the Diamond Status anyway as it's not a full cash booking.

3. Hilton say they can't see the booking so can't link it from their side either.

4. The hilton.com site suggests that the booking won't earn HHonors points (which I'm not worried about) but doesn't say whether the other benefits should be offered (i.e. room upgrades, lounge access etc. which I am worried about!)

Anyone any insight? I am tempted to refund the booking through ba.com and just book direct if I'm likely to miss out on any benefits... thanks in advance!
