Nothing needs to be cut. JFK slots are plentiful outside of peak periods, and AA is hoarding peak slots as is.

That slots are difficult to acquire at JFK is a myth that for whatever reason everybody thinks is true. Slots are difficult to acquire between the roughly 3pm and 8pm period. That's it. Outside that, easy to get.

Of course, you have once daily feeder flights like BWI that use peak slots. These probably will go away after PHL becomes a US hub, and those peak slots can be used for Europe flying.
