Despite recent problems, one way to find out whether your points will post is whether 'STAR ALLIANCE GOLD/SILVER' shows up on the left portion (if you have such status). I just flew a whole bunch of UA flights that didn't have it and those points didn't post (one flight from almost a week ago).

Btw, BB - when you get your DM (Departure Management) card for the upgrade WL, make sure you get the agent to enter AC*G for MP LEVEL. It's not showing up lately and it's simply a blank space.
