Dogstar and I noticed the same problem to/from SIN this weekend.
Even when the ground agents forced the number in and reprinted the boarding passes with "STAR ALLIANCE GOLD", it only showed on the large portion of the BP and not under the number on the retained section of the BP.
Additionally our *A status did not print out on any onboard manifests, we asked on each flight and the manifests showed us a basic/no-status flyers.
The miles have started to post on Aeroplan, so the number was entered.
