2. the receptionist at Dan+ said you don't need an invitation to get in (i got one from the BA check-in desk). if your ticket shows your gold etc. then that is enough. i did use an invite, and don't understand why they use the invite system if you just need a ticket...
It's much quicker. I didn't have an invite once, and had to
* fish out my card
* have them look up in a big book about whether it grants me access
* have them photocopy the card and the boarding pass (depsite the bp stating my status)
* let me in
Meanwhile someone came in behind me, dropped the invite on the desk with a cheery "hello" and waltzed in.
