Anyone have recent experience or knowledge about receiving a VAT refund on a US AMEX? I heard that VAT refund amounts for AMEX are lower than that of visa or MC, and that refunds could take 5 months or longer. What is the % refund if using AMEX (I'm sure it varies by country) and what are the commission/processing charges? Will be making most purchases from UK, France, Spain, NL. I've always used visa or mc in the past and have gotten the VAT within 1-2 months.
