I value my time. Going with UA through ORD adds 4 hours to the trip. Going with US adds 3-6 hours. How much do you save in cash to make that worthwhile? Would it be the full $770 J class fuel surcharge?

I haven't flown UA much internationally but my experience with them within NA is that they are far worse than AC when it comes to service and quality of planes.

But if it saves $770 then it may be worth it.
