This CX-9 refresh is apparently a "gap filler" before a complete replacement fairly soon. It feels like they've decontented the interior somewhat, honestly -- though that may be a matter of opinion. The new console has kind of ruined the lines from the original design.

I like the display up top, though I'm biased after driving a similarly-equipped 6 for many years. It puts essential information in really easy line of sight, and the orange-on-black text is easy to read in bright light. It doesn't sound like they've done a good job integrating it with the new radio, though.

It's too bad -- the CX-9 has always seemed like the more elegant "big brother" to the Edge, but it really hasn't kept up.
