Same experience
At a hotel in Lexington they could not process the card and they could not get a hold of anyone on the phone to help them (Sun). Furthermore it seemed to have little bearing on them that they should know how to do it. They simply handed it back to me and expected to charge the card. As far as they were concerned they knew the easiest solution was to put the responsibility back on me. I, like the OP, do feel I could use it in the future but i dislike having no better answer then we will charge your card and you can speak to someone tomorrow. I asked them to leave a note on my reservation so I could perhaps resolve this problem instead of waiting for my next stay. They said it was not possible. So perhaps more annoying is my having to go through this whole palava again.
