If you book a seat on a *G airline, and you see that a "premium" seat (i.e. aisle near front) is open, and you ask for it, should it not be made available 100% of the time? Or are you saying that, when you ask for an empty premium seat, as a *G flyer on a *A airline, your request is refused? Which airline(s)?
By premium I meant First or Business class. I also don't think premium seating is an advertised *A benefit. You're going to need to provide a web-link for that, as it's news to me.
In practice, I've been both granted and denied "premium" Y seats on AC, TG, and LX. It certainly never hurts to ask though. Never an op-up on any *A carrier other than UA yet.
