Most folks here will tell you it's a bad deal, however the value of your points is something that can only be determined by you.

Many people use their points for goods and non-travel services. I find 7000 points to be steep for lounge access, but if you have to be at the airport all day and for some reason you can't buy a lounge pass or get one from a kind friend/FlyerTalker then maybe get for it.

I still remember the thrill of the first time I had lounge access. Maybe that really was worth 7000 points (but not more than once).
