I recently had a situation where they were seeking volunteers to be bumped on both my outbound and return flights. The strange thing was the agents seeking volunteers said different things in each location. On the outbound, the agent said it was $300 plus the value of my points (I booked both one ways with RR points), so it would be a voucher for just under $400. On the return, when I asked the agent what the total would be, they said it was $300 flat since I booked with points and that no value would be added to that total. Basically, who is correct? I ended up taking neither as one was a next day delay, and the other was a 12 hour ish delay that involved going from a n/s flight to one with a connection and another wait.
