That would depend on the nature of the upset. Upset sounds a fairly benign thing but it can result in hull loss (that's a crash to non-Americans). Remember that airliners are not stressed for aerobatic manoeuvres and so any "upset" requires a lot of height to deal with, the worse the upset the greater the altitude needed to recover to controlled flight. Even then what happens inside the aircraft may well cause injury or worse. The Jumbo en-route to Nairobi that got into an upset (caused by a madman attacking the crew) in 2000 lost in excess of 10,000ft.
