BA's program is better (than AF-KL's program) for earning toward reward flights even for infrequent flyers. For frequent flyers too, reward flight earning value is far better with BA than with AF-KL's program.
BA Silver elite status is not much different than AF-KL Platinum status and pretty easy to earn too. I can earn or retain BA Silver or Gold status far more easily than I can earn/retain AF-KL Platinum status.
