FB requires a mileage earning flight every 20 months to prevent expiry. BAEC requires any sort of activity to keep the account active.
Big difference there for the infrequent flyer.
Personally I don't care about infrequent flyers and agree with mileage expiry. If you don't do business with a company, why should they reward you?
But there are a lot of people who fly frequently with BA and AF/KL who don't spend the huge amounts of money necessary to earn top, or even mid-level elite.
