We went to RGN in February, stayed at the Traders, and had a great time. My wife bought a couple strands of pears from a vendor in the Scott market recommended by another Flyertalker. All her co-workers love the inexpensive pearls. Sure, they are not A grade, but for just a few American dollars they look great from six feet away.

I just wish I had bought more. hint, hint.

Oh, and word to the wise: stay away from the food in the ANA "lounge" in RGN. I came down with a nasty case of food poisoning on the way home. Cipro is NOT pleasant and they might not let you back on the plane in Narita if you are too ill.
