In regards to award free days, IFAR/Q4s are considered "Specialty" vehicles and can be reserved using that type of award (you have the standard ones for A-G, and then Specialty for H/I, Q4, and R (minivan)).

If you're referring to an upgrade PC, unless it specifically states that it will put you in an SUV, they are generally good for up to premium (i.e. the highest class you will receive is a PCAR). However, if you ask nicely and depending on the location, I honestly don't think you will have trouble switching into a midsize SUV. Of course, YMMV.

Is a PCAR really cheaper than an IFAR? If you're using a double-upgrade PC, often you will end up in a YF (specialty full-size, which IIRC is Klingon or some other foreign language for "base Impala!" ), but you might be able to talk your way into a midsize SUV if you're nice about it.
