Monterey isn't really about the beaches although there are some. It is really about the beautiful drives and views, along with the world class aquarium and dining at the wharf or Cannery Row. If you can walk flat areas, perhaps you might like a window shopping stroll through quaint but chic Carmel-By-The-Sea. Drive the 17-Mile Drive past Pebble Beach or down to Big Sur for big trees and even bigger views. Or visit the Carmel Mission.

You don't have to get out of your car to enjoy the Monterey/ Carmel/ Big Sur area. If you do, you don't have to go onto a beach.
