I'd also go with the miles if the OP has plans to go to EU in the next year or two. 10K miles is not only a sixth of a RT ticket (and although it takes work, low-level awards are out there), whereas $100 is considerably less than a sixth of a revenue ticket; it's also half of the difference between Y and J one way.
