We found out last summer, that even 1-2 months in advance, anyone from Aeroplan could get UA business class seats - from LAX or SFO to Kona, and back (our flight to Hawaii, was on Friday night - our flight to the mainland was on Wed night). A nonSE may not be able to get business class seats, on an award basis, even when booking much more in advance?
