You know, I have no complaints. I pulled a one-way Saver award in F, 2 weeks ago from SIN-ORD - and whats more, I found it around 4-5 days prior to travel so it worked out fine. Now that I am EXP on AA, I prefer AA for service and upgrades etc, but UA is still, as much as I dont want to admit it, a bit of a trusty old labrador.
My wife is a 1K as a result of my MM status, and she has cleared 5 out 6 domestic upgrades - so she loves UA!
Sure, there is availability 1-2 weeks out & that actually works for me. Unfortunately, it does not work for most people.
You'll understand more then anyone. HOWEVER, I need to plan 6 months in advance for family / friends to visit me in Dubai & I have NEVER had a problem finding F awards on EK in advance. I have not ever seen one avail on UA but that's OK, I wouldn't Bring someone I care about from the US - DXB on UA anyway
