most FT readers and posters are probably rather frequent fliers ... I'd agree that, for this audience, having basic segment mileage show up in flight details is a good thing (and the real geeks know about the 500-mile segment minimum, know how to calculate the class-of-service bonuses and elite level bonuses, etc) ... trying to put myself in the shoes of an occasional flyer, I'd find it interesting to know the route distance as well (gee, it's only 17 air miles difference between LAX and BUR, but that's an hour in LA traffic)
