TG web site mostly fails to make booking
I recently tried to book a flight within Thailand. thaiairways.com got to part way through the payment portal and then just hung. I tried contacting customer service, who told me my PNR and took my payment details. Bangkok sat on their hands for a few days, did nothing, didn't respond to email ... then cancelled my ticket.
So, I tried the same booking with a different browser on a different PC. It hung at "Processing ..." instead, even earlier than the previous attempt!
Customer service told me that they could sell me a ticket at over double the price, but couldn't put a payment through onto the existing one! I was told that maybe it was my credit card that's the problem.
I succumbed to insanity. (... doing the same thing and expecting different results.) I tried again using the same browser as originally, with the same data, including the same credit card. It worked!
To those who use Thai way more than I do, what gives? How do you cope with an airline whose web site bookings randomly work one time in three? When the payment portal hangs, is there anyone who can just put the payment through, or is the response I received normal?
