Some airlines such as AS started way too many rather unusual routes to HI and UA is just tightening east coast/midwest routes post merger.
I don't any fundamental changes.
Ans all sorts of new players are getting there - VX is planning to start HI, Allegiant is already flying iirc, WN is in that constant state of almost being there...
If anything the place is getting more and more packed...
