Im seeing the opposite, fly to hawaii all the way from grand cayman for about $1,200 return in F in January, doing it again in May, and that price seems firm a lot of the way through 2013 (this is with AA). Economy was really cheap as well. Not much use for those on the west coast, but anyone on the east - hop to peurto rico and you'll likely get the same prices if not less. I also found some decent accommodation on Kauai for about 140 dollars a night for a decent 1 bed condo/suite with kitchenette in Kapa'a. Far cheaper for me than going to europe (and it is further to hawaii for me!).
