Tickets are nonrefundable anyway!
Imagine OPTrying this with BA or LH (basically a non-US airline) and see where he goes. Or on say, EastJet!

Airlines have within their rights to alter flight schedules within permissible time frames. Which in this case is 4 hours. But 25 mins is just too much for some people.
