Best hotel not far from Google is the Four Seasons in East Palo Alto at University Avenue and 101. I would call it 4 star although hotel management may think it is better. It's probably more than $250.

There aren't any hotels in the very immediate vicinity of the Google campus. Might consider the Hilton Garden Inn at 85 and El Camino, not sure if it is in Mountain View or Sunnyvale. Probably about a 10 minute drive max; if 85/101 is crowded, you can surface street it in about the same amount of time.

Regarding the motels on the other side of 101 from Moffett, it would be a stretch to even call them 3*
