Whether there's a tub is a factor in deciding where to stay for me. Many hotels are renovating with deluxe tile showers where tub/shower combos used to be. Most of those tubs were neither deep nor comfortable but better than no tub at all. Better to renovate with a quality, deeper tub with more stylish tile and better shower head. That's an update that works for everybody.
Not for me as I'd rather have a really nice shower stall with good shower head than a shallow tub that is neither deep nor comfortable with a sucky shower head as you don't get the best of either but a compromise and IMHO the worst of both.
FWIW I generally dislike showering in a tub and where possible pick rooms or cruise ship cabins with shower only.
