Most of the hotels are along El Camino Real from Stanford campus on South. There are other hotels near Moffitt Airfield/NASA-Ames other than a sheritan most are the standard chain/lower price alternatives (Qaulity Inn, Hampton Inn, etc). The closest appears to be Hampton Inn.
With most of these hotels you can get to Google without driving on the expressways.
As for Rates---I have no idea without specific dates.
You are going to run into traffic because its Google campus.
Are you tied to certain chains?
3/4 star is always asubjective measure.
