I believe the "logon to your email account" just means they will send a confirmation email to the address you provide with a link you click to to prove the email address is valid.

I have many email aliases and they all (except one) end up in my Gmail inbox. But I've never had a problem with these kind of confirmations.

I have been using TripIt for many years and like it -- they usually inform me of delays before Delta does
