Champagne or not?
Outbound to LIN last week, I asked about champagne (it was our wedding anniversary) and got a firm No. Fair enough.
The official line from the company with regards to service standards is that they do not want us to cross-brand between cabins. Champagne is not a standard offering from the bar in Euro Traveller, but they do want us to find the best solution for the customer and in the rare circumstances when we do bring things from other cabins the customer must be told it has been sourced from elsewhere. Ideally, the crew member should have offered you an alternative drink when you asked about the champagne. I certainly hope you had a good trip for your anniversary though.

I'm sure one of my excellent colleagues from Eurofleet who operate Band 3 shorthaul services more often than I do might help you with the nitty gritty catering specifics, but there is always more of one option of wrap than the other. Sometimes to the point of what seems like an 80/20% split of options. The service standard states something like
Offer wrap from the meal trolley, but doesn't state offering a choice. I don't think this is an advertised part of the ET service offering. Instead the higher loaded wrap will be offered as a standard and then if an alternative is needed, the lesser loaded wrap will be offered. I've never understood it as a standard to offer a choice of wraps to all customers.

On the Airbus there is only one standard post-landing PA per language, with no differentiation between LHR and out-of-base. The basics are there with regard to staying sat down and thank you for flying BA, but you are right that they mention flight connections and being at your next gate at least 20 minutes before departure, which is definitely a bugbear for me. Unfortunately, that is the only PA we have as we don't have rostered language speakers on routes or the ability to play destination specific PA's and we do need to play the PA from the safety perspective of keeping people sat down and thanking them for their custom.
Hope that helps and you enjoyed your time in Italy. Am sure some of my excellent colleagues from Eurofleet who are on the board like Littlegirl who have answered in part will have a similarly thorough answer as well to help.
