Just to share my experience with Boingo: While staying at the Hilton Bonn (which has the audacity to charge €20 per day/per device) I signed up to Boingo's Europe+ tarif. All was fine until today when I received notification that $180 were taken from my account (on top of the already paid $34.95).
When queried Boingo responded:

We do see that there were some errors in our billing system regarding that usage however and the charges are not accurate. As a result we've refunded those extra charges back to the xxx account we have on file.
You should see that total refund of $180.84 (USD) back in your xxx balance in three to five business days.
Last time I looked Bonn, Germany was in the heart of Europe. While they acknowledge their errors I still find it a bit rich that I have to wait for a refund for up to 5 days.
Not very confidence inspiring the way Boingo conducts its business.
