I was told, if they have my Ipad, it could take up to two months before the report gets processed. I am curious what experiences others have had with UA lost and found.
My lost iPhone app tells me that the iPad hasn't been connected to the internet since it disappeared, which makes me think it more likely that it has gone into the bowels of lost and found than the hands of a lucky passenger. Still, two months seems like a long time to wait.
Thanks!
I have had two experiences with lost iPads, but I'm not sure either will be particularly helpful to you:
- I left an iPad mini on a flight into ORD. I was contacted by United 3 days later before I'd even realized it had gone missing. At the time I had no passcode on it, and there was no identification on it. They had pulled up my email which included flight notifications from United to determine my MP #, and subsequently used that to find my phone number. They fedexed it to me and I had it the next day.
- I left an iPad on a flight into FRA. I realized it about 30 minutes later when I got to the LH lounge. It was a quick turnaround of this plane back to ORD, but the LH agent was able to call the gate and someone retrieved it from my seat at that moment. Again no identification, but I knew the exact seat and it was timely so I was able to return to the gate to retrieve it.
The moral of MY stories are: I hope you have identification of some sort on it or a particularly proactive representative. Also I am much more careful about checking for my iPads
