I travel Slough-LHR (T5) fairly often, but have never taken a taxi from the rank outside the station. I mostly use a private car service that I know to be a rip-off, and they charge GBP18. The bus station is directly adjacent to the railway station, however, and numbers 75/76 go every 15 minutes during the day, taking about half an hour.
