Chance to deplane at stops on a direct flight?

I'm booked on a direct Southwest flight with two stops in a few months, and it has been ages since I've done a Southwest flight stops like this (I usually book short non-stops or have actual plane changes). The last time I had a Southwest flight like this, I seem to recall that there was not enough time to deplane and walk around the intermediate airport, but I'm wondering if this is still the case. The total flight time is 7 hours and 45 minutes, and that is a long time to be stuck on a plane for a cross-country trip. Would love to get out at least once, but I'm guessing that this is wishful thinking??? Let me know what your experience has been on Southwest of late. And, if it makes a difference, stops are at MDW and BNA. I'm still holding out hope for switching to an alternate flight, but there are only two flights a day from my origin to my destination and the other option is showing that the cheaper Wanna Get Away fares are "currently unavailable."
