My initial travelling time was about 19 hours, now it became 30 hours. We have to flying 8 hours from ORD to Paris, then wait at Paris for 5 hours and then 11 hours flying time to HKG. If AA did not reroute me to Paris, CX would have wait for me, even though there would a 5 to 10 minutes delayed. I am not sure why we got reroute to Paris instead of SFO or LAX, we are basically going around the world. When we reached HKG we were all exhausted, especially my two children who is 8 and 10 years old. This is a totally unacceptable arrangement. I am hoping that we will get compensate in regards to such unreasonable reroute. What can I do ? I have filed a complaint on 04/15 with AA, but no respond.
AA rerouted you because it did not think you would make the cutoff time for the Cathay flight. What was the cause of the delay into ORD?
If it had been me and I was traveling with children, I would have asked for a flight the next day, even if it mean me paying for a hotel in Chicago. I suspect you will get compensated with miles. Did you make a specific compensation request in you message to AA?
