I was wondering if it's possible to slip behind 15K (I changed to this seat) and access the emergency exit space. Since there is the storage box then there must be a gap of 20-30 cm (or whatever the width of the storage box might be) between the left side of the seat pod and the fuselage? Seems more likely than 9A at least.

I haven't been upper deck for years. I don't fly 747s frequently and since reading about this I have avoided it. Only once a on a relatively short NRT-BKK flight in 2009 before I was aware of the issue.
The gap between 15A/15K and the fuselage is quite small. You will not be able to exit through it.

At most, the gap is 3".
