Just to add a recent data point.

I typically stay at Park Hyatt due to the loyalty program and usually competitive FHR rates. This weekend, the Ritz-Carlton (Four Seasons) had a better rate and decided to try it. I wasn't impressed and it's unlikely I'll return.

1) Indifferent door service.
2) Slow registration (worse at check out than check in) without an apology for my delay
3) Painfully slow restaurant service at Deca with an uninspired menu (both lunch and brunch)
4) My name was never used once during my stay
5) The rooms did feel more spacious than the Park Hyatt, yet more stiff and less comfortable. It may be personal preference.
6) Basic WiFi unacceptably slow
