Can you rent a car at the airport and avoid the city center altogether? Driving in downtown Casablanca is a nightmare, even if it's an automatic.

Also can I do the Atlas myself if I have my own wheels? I am the adventerous type if that helps...
If you're not driving a manual shift, you'll be fine driving through the Atlas Mountains. The roads are paved.
