I completely agree with what you guys are saying about driving stick in a foreign envioroment and especially the mountains. I really want to drive however because I have a baby with me so it is easier to manage in my own wheels.
Therefore my only good option is to rent an automatic car as you guys are saying. A train with the wife and baby would be to stressfull. We just had our first baby so we are not very good at getting around a stroller , car seat etc.
I was planning on flying to Marrakech and then driving to Casablanca, followed by a trip to Fez and the the ferry at Tangier but one way rentals for the 5 days are $850 with an automatic.
Do you guys think a good option would be to fly to Casablanca instead of Marrakech on a Monday, and from there go to Marrakech, and on Wednesday drive to Fez returning Thursday to Casablanca. This way I can return car in same place and for an automatic would only be 250 dollars.
I can get a cheap flight from Casablanca to my next destination and would have no rental issues.
Does this sound better? Also can I do the Atlas myself if I have my own wheels? I am the adventerous type if that helps...
Thanks!!
