Why on earth does the T1 domestic lounge at LHR still exist?

I am sitting here now waiting for the BHD flight, with only one other person in this lounge - we are outnumbered by staff! Interestingly a few additional sofas have been put in. No bums on them though...

The food offering has declined (even since BMI left!) - the only improvement is the replacement of plasticised cheese with real cheese. Though I understand why it is pointless investing in catering a lounge that almost nobody uses!

I am completely amazed that this lounge has not been closed. It cannot possibly justify its overheads with footfall. At this point (and a few years ago I thought I'd never say this) I just wish it was shut.
