I think 24 hours notice is a bit short and they should have offered you some compensation (at least miles). But since you chose to stick to the same flight, no compensation.
I had a kind of similar experience with EK in the past where I was booked in J to LHR on EK029 but after they downgraded it to a 777 due to A380 wing cracks, they allowed me to shift to any A380 flight on that day without any change fees or fare difference payments. I ultimately went on EK001.
Which is good if you do not have many other time constraints in a given time frame.
