The point here is whether egg is considered 'vegetarian' or not. For the billion or so plus people who live in India, it is *strictly* non-vegetarian.
Despite the number of them, it does not make them the official source for the definition of vegetarian.
The vegetarian society's definition contains the wording "with, or without, the use of dairy products and eggs".
