It's much newer; the rooms are nicer (MUCH better A/C); great views from the Northern facing rooms; the lobby/restaurant/bar area is MUCH nicer, and the overpriced breakfast is excellent, including made to order omelets as part of the full buffet (like the old MDR Courtyard).

The front desk is the friendliest and most helpful I've encountered at any Courtyard...

And it's only a Cat 3!

Only negative is the annoying $12/day parking fee, but given the rates vs. the overpriced Marriot in the Marina, it's still a great bargain.
